What do we want out of life?

When I’m on holidays I can take the time to be more philosophical – today my question is…What do we want out of life anyway?

I awoke in the middle of the night last night wondering about this question and very quickly came to the conclusion that it’s not what life can give us, but what we can give to our lives that’s important.

Sitting and waiting for something to happen won’t make it happen, we have to go out and get what we want; and if we don’t know what we want, then go out and something will happen to show us the way anyway.

The path is a little lighter, a little brighter when we find the right way to go and what to do. If you haven’t found it yet, don’t despair, just stop looking for something to happen – and it will come to you much easier.

The Feng Shui of Bernie Madoff's building

I saw this building on the news tonight and had to comment on how unstable such a building is.

Madoff as we know has just been jailed for 150 years for his Ponzi scheme which he operated out of the 17th floor of Manhattan's Lipstick Building:

I'm not saying that all businesses occupying this building will be unstable, but for such a business where investors are being asked to hand over their money for various schemes that are a 'sure bet' they would expect some stability.

So because of the nature of the business, a stable shape is best, not a round shape such as this building, which in this case has seen the money go around and around; that is, investors were paid their dividends out of the income generated by new investors and not from the actual investments they bought into. The principle was never seen again by most, who lost everything.

Secondly, you can see at ground level, the building is being 'supported' by narrow columns which give the feeling that the building is standing on 'tipee toes.' Another indication of instability.

A bank or investment company should be located in a square building with good, solid foundations into the earth.

This mole is in his Room of Hope and a restriction to his career.

I heard today that his career has much improved in recent years, Let's see a photo of him in 2007:

Feng Shui Discovery Tour

After my trip to Japan Feb 2-14, 2009 I'm heading to Hong Kong to conduct a Feng Shui Discovery Tour.

Every year Feng Shui has influences (called the Annual Stars) which integrate with the existing Stars in our buildings providing a new set of dynamics which affect our lives. Some of these are beneficial while others are definitely to be avoided!

As a result, each year I like to present my tips, tricks and valuable info on what you can do in your home.

This year my event 'Your Fate in 2008' is being presented at Crown on Saturday February 9th (click the link on my home page www.fengshuimaster.com.au for reservations).

It's also a great way to learn more about Feng Shui as we discuss how our environment impacts upon us in unexpected ways.

I'll also be discussing Astrology and Face Reading, the latter was a very popular topic at my presentation in Singapore in November 2007 at Tiong Bahru Plaza, when the audience were invited to come up on stage so I could read their faces and reveal interesting things about them to the audience - lots of fun too!

Not So Lucky

HONG KONG - A businessman died when his Ferrari, with a "lucky" Chinese number plate 888, crashed and burned in a suspected road race.

Chan Ki-wo, a textiles business owner who had already survived one crash, is believed to have been racing at over 100kmh when he lost control of his Ferrari Modena.

Friends, allegedly involved in the race used fire extinguishers to try to quell the ferocious blaze.

One of the few things to survive the blaze was the "lucky" number plate.

Real Estate Staging

There is a new phenomenon, originating in the US, whereby a house is prepared for sale by a professional person skilled in interior design, real estate and what people look for when buying a home; it's called Real Estate Staging.

Well...maybe it's not so new, but certainly the term is!

I've been doing Real Estate Staging for a number of years for clients without giving it a formal technical term such as this - and with great results!

By combining Feng Shui into the equation, not only can we address the visible, tangible aspects of the property, including the condition of the house, the placement of furniture, colour scheme, cleanliness and decor, Feng Shui can also determine such things as:

- flow of qi (life force energy) - how do people enter the house and move around? When open for inspection, an agent can be advised as to how to direct the people through the house, and a location to end the inspection which will maximise the saleability of the house.

- placement of furniture - not only based on good Feng Shui principles, furniture may be placed in a way that activates the most auspicious qi, so the people not only like the look of the house, but also the way it feels.

- choosing an area for the auction - by staging an auction in the right location, higher bidding can ensue. I have seen this work a number of times with great success.

My most recent case of Real Estate Staging was a couple of weeks ago, when I inspected a house for a client, which, when I first saw it was in a great state of dissarray. The client worked very hard on bringing the property up to standard, painting, cleaning, window dressing and then the day before the auction, I went to check and there was a miraculous improvement. But not only that, instead of holding the auction at the front of the house, as is to be expected, the auction was held at the back - rather unusual but in this particular case, the back was a more prosperous location...and it worked!

The client was expecting around $320,000 - and got $410,000!!

Health and Conception

Hello Jodi,

Hope you are well! I had a quick question regarding our master bedroom which is used by ***** and me. We have tried our best to get the wallpaper with colours and patterns you have suggested. After the installation of the wallpaper, ***** and I have moved in there and for some reason, she has been keeping unwell with something or the other always disturbing her health, in fact we are contemplating on moving back to the adjacent room as early as this weekend.

What could be the cause behind this? Is there something that you can explain? And what are your suggestions? I will send you a photo of the wall this evening if that helps in anyway.

Unfortunately this was to be expected as the room doesn't have the good health energy. When I do the calculation, it's very objective, it is not my 'intuition' or some other 'sensing' that I have that tells me the wall has that sort of energy. It's a mathematical formula I use to calculate what type of energy is there.

When I saw the calculation, I presumed it was not good for health, as I've seen this before.

That's why I suggested the golden colours for the wallpaper, the idea being to remove the strong earth energy by using metal. In the five element theory, metal is the 'son' of earth, so thereby should do the trick.

It would be helpful to see the wall, just to check what colour actually went on. Also, I would recommend a pair of wu luo (see my site at www.fengshuicuresandcrystals.com for details) - one for each side of the bed.

Now, also, Feng Shui for your house always stays the same (unless extensive renovation) and also, every year there are annual influences, which we discussed earlier this year. In the NE, which is your other bedroom, is some sickness energy too.

In fact, I think I recall I did give you a wu luo when I came?

Let me see a photo first...and also what type of unwell it is? stomach, woman's problems, headache, cold/flu?

***** has been faced with stomach, eye and gynaecolgical problems in the recent months and last weekend, had a mild slip disc within 6 months. She's never been a sickly person but it seems like she has been since we moved to this house.

Also, could you please advise if this room is good for conception?

Oh dear that's not good. I think you will be better off in your original bedroom, as the wallpaper you've chosen is perfect.

That's the best we can expect from this room, that it doesn't bring you illness. A pair of Wu luo, one on either side of the bed for each of you is the recommended cure but is not infallible.

It is not the best place in the house for conception and I think we discussed when I was there earlier this year, that the loungeroom is best for such 'activity.' (lol)

Annual Star 5 in the North East 2007

Hi All,

Yesterday I visited a home that had the NE bedroom destroyed by fire on August 17 this year. The house has solid brick internal walls so the fire didn't spread and destroy the whole house.

The Period 4 Gui facing house has this chart:

Apparently there was an ENORMOUS amount of clutter in the house (thankfully I didn't get to see it). In the bedroom of the fire there were two cats living permanently (a rather sad thing to do) and they were suspected to have caused the fire - and perished in it.

Upon first glance at the chart I wondered, why in particular, fire was the cause of the devastation.

I've seen a lot of sickness in North East bedrooms this year with the Annual Star 5 there and in this case with the Mountain Star 2 it should be more pronounced.

The lady didn't sleep much (1-2 hours per night) and her partner took most of the illness himself.

Also, when the Mountain Star 2 combines with the Time Star 7 we get the hetu fire combination, and together with the Annual Star 5 in the ne...(a recipe for disaster!)

Plus the monthly star 5, coupled with the Annual Star 2 in the central palace, and the monthly star 9 coupled with the water star 5 in the south palace...(their main entry door) - it seemed destiny was to bring misfortune last month!

The couple and the lady's parents are now living in a hotel and the entire house is being renovated - just as well, as they also had water star 5 at the back door (in the south) and never used the front door. So hopefully some better luck will come to them with their new renovation!

What is WindWater?

Feng Shui literally means 'Wind Water' so it's important to remember, when considering the Feng Shui of your site, the direction and location of the wind.

Often we forget about that and concentrate on the water aspect.

Also, often I read/hear others suggesting that water is good to enhance the water and wood elements but it will 'engulf' the fire, earth and metal elements.

Well, this is not true. Water will enhance all types of yang qi, so when using water, it doesn't matter whether it's for earth, fire, metal, wood or water elements, water will enhance and activate the yang qi.
