How To Design a Feng Shui House from the Ground Up

The best time to do Feng Shui is at the construction stage, or even before that, when choosing a piece of land, as this will decide the orientation of the house and therefore how best to design the house to comply with good Feng Shui principles.

The client called me in 2004 after they had purchased the land, and fortunately for them it had an auspicious facing direction - south.

After visiting the site I recommended certain features that would be desirable, so the client went to the architect with my suggestions.  For this house to be good, there should be mountain and water at the facing.  This translates as both yin and yang elements inside as well as outside the house on the south side.

The client returned to me with the plans and as advised, downstairs was the entrance (yang) and upstairs was the master bedroom (yin).

I had asked the client to put their bed on the external facing side wall.  The architect wasn't very happy about this as it changed the 'face' of the house, so he put a high window above the bed and longer windows to a balcony on either side.  That way the client has a solid wall for their head and the architect is happy too.

The house construction commenced in 2004 and finished in 2005, making it a Period 8 house.

You can see that downstairs is the front door, which brings the most vibrant yang qi into the home.  Upstairs is the window and behind, the head of the master bed.

The client is enjoying good wealth, health and family harmony, and says the whole family love to sleep in this bed!

This unorthodox architectural approach satisfied the Feng Shui criteria, and when the client is happy, the architect also benefits.

Outside the house is a very open space at the facing and across the road, another two-storey house to act as a mountain to satisfy the yin yang requirement for this site.

P8 SW/NE house with water star 5

Last week I had a P8 SW/NE house with water star 5 at the door and water star 4 in the west. They use either the front door or garage door to enter (both on water star 5).

In the west, on the other side of the fence is a swimming pool with some sort of water-sounding fountain attached.

I said not to use the door and to plant lots of tall wood-shaped trees in the west and to use this area inside the house to do lots of study. I also asked her to encourage her husband to take up some extra study, as he had the time to do it.

However, it was too late. She wrote to me this week and said:

"Thanks so much for the consultation. Just you said about the swimming pool in my back neighbour. This is really a concern. Now my husband just announced that he wants to leave us for another women. Is there any fengshui fix for this issue? I can't believe how acurate the Fengshui is. I know there will be no exact fix. If you can give me any recommendation to save my marriage, I am much appreciated."

So I believe that not only the 4, but the water star 5 triggered off this problem. Simply being at the door is bad enough, now it was triggering off another problem...

Year of the Snake 2013

Hi and Welcome to the Year of the Snake 2013!

Festivities for the Chinese New Year officially begin this coming 10th of February, which is based on the Lunar Calendar (the cycle of the moon as it rotates the earth).

However, for Feng Shui and most Chinese astrological purposes, the Chinese New Year commences on the 4th of February 2013. This is based on the Solar Calendar (the cycle of the earth as we rotate around the sun).

Here's some great ways to ring in the new year:

- Avoid sweeping, dusting or mopping for the first few days. Cleaning should have been done already - we don't want to sweep away any good Feng Shui!

- Have a Lion Dance come to your business. I have one coming to my shop, Feng Shui Cures & Crystals this coming Tuesday morning 5th of February. You are welcome to join me, there will be loads of noise, firecrackers and Year of the Snake giveaways! 141 Victoria Street, West Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.

- Ensure your cures are put in place for 2013. For instance, a wu luo should be placed in the south west to protect against the Annual Star 2.

- Make plans and set goals as to what you wish to achieve this year (info in my ebook about your personal astrology can help with this). It's a good time to work on your life and work, rather than in it!

- Look in the mirror on the first day of new year. How your face looks on the first day of the new year can often tell what sort of a year you'll have. So smile and pinch your cheeks to give them good colour! (info in my ebook about face reading can help with this).

- Lastly plan to do some Feng Shui courses...here's a couple to choose from:

After my trip to Japan Feb 2-14, 2009 I'm heading to Hong Kong to conduct a Feng Shui Discovery Tour.

My Latest Events in 2008

Every year Feng Shui has influences (called the Annual Stars) which integrate with the existing Stars in our buildings providing a new set of dynamics which affect our lives. Some of these are beneficial while others are definitely to be avoided!

As a result, each year I like to present my tips, tricks and valuable info on what you can do in your home.

This year my event 'Your Fate in 2008' is being presented at Crown on Saturday February 9th (click the link on my home page www.fengshuimaster.com.au for reservations).

It's also a great way to learn more about Feng Shui as we discuss how our environment impacts upon us in unexpected ways.

I'll also be discussing Astrology and Face Reading, the latter was a very popular topic at my presentation in Singapore in November 2007 at Tiong Bahru Plaza, when the audience were invited to come up on stage so I could read their faces and reveal interesting things about them to the audience - lots of fun too!
